Yes. They have wheels and a motor. That makes them a vehicle. You are probably picturing that rather compact vehicle with forks on the front and some guy sitting on top of it. That is a sit-down forklift and it might have 4 wheels or 3 wheels. The power may come from a battery, a diesel engine, a propane engine, a natural gas engine or a fuel cell.
We often look at the wrong angle or an incomplete description of the problem when it comes to identifying hazards. ‘Forklift safety’ comprises two main things: operational safety and mechanical safety. However, forklifts are operated in a broader environment that encompasses pedestrian safety, materials safety and the identification of hazards that might be infrequent such as overhead power lines, ugly freight or ice on a ramp.
Typically used in a warehouse setting, a forklift or lift truck is used to quickly and easily move pallets of goods within the warehouse as well as during loading and unloading of goods from transport trailers or train cars. Depending on the model, they can lift palettes of goods between 20′-40′ up and place them on storage racking at these heights. Some are designed to lift 2 palettes side by side simultaneously to achieve greater efficiency.

A low loader is a semi-trailer with two drops in deck height: one right after the gooseneck and one right before the wheels. This allows the deck to be extremely low compared with other trailers. It offers the ability to carry legal loads up to 12 ft tall, which other trailers cannot.
Heavy haulage low loader trailers have a very low main bed, 32-60cm from the ground and are approx 5 to 7.5 metres long (although that can extend in some instances).
